What a fabulous and striking brooch this is. It's made by Simpson from sterling silver but it has a gold finish so assume it's gold plated. Also guessing it's from the 50's but I suppose it could be 60's. There are always crossovers in style between the decades.
The stone in this brooch reflects the light and changes from green to purple to red. I think it's just faceted glass. It's really nicely made and signed on the back. It has a safety clasp and a safety chain. It measures 5cm along the longest side, and approx 4cm along the other sides. The condition is very good, metal and stone unscratched.
