This is a gorgeous snakeskin handbag. My guess is it's late 50's or 60's. There is a sticker on the back of the hand mirror inside. See photo. It's really well made with fabulous detailing and is in very nice condition. It barely looks used.
The exterior is covered in a dark green snakeskin with goldtone metal hinges, handle holders and clasp. It has an open pocket on either side of a central section with a clasp. This central main section of the bag is lined in cream leather. This lining looks great, no marks that I can see. There is a side pocket with a brass zip fastening, then a larger open pocket that holds a matching cream leather purse and another little pocket designed for lipstick. The opposite side has another open pocket with a small mirror inside. The mirror has a little marking on it which is normal with old mirrors, and it has a sticker which reads Petit Paris and Buenos Aires. So it would seem that the bag is of Argentinian origin.
I hope the photos do it justice. The snakeskin is a really lovely dark green and in wonderful condition. It measures 22cm across and 18cm down and is 7cm wide across the base. The straps are 30cm long approximately and 1.5cm wide.
